Because God Loves Us

Cool Pics toward the bottom of the letter. . . .But keep reading!!!!

Hey everyone i hope everything is going good. Let me start off you week by telling you how are investigators are going..

Eliane is a friend of an hermana that is serving a mission here in uruguay, she is really nice but is really content with her church, so we were talking to her and she understands authority and everything but she thinks that her chruch has authority, we explaind the book of mormon and everything and she promised to read it..

their was a point in the lesson when she said it wasnt right that if a missionarys family got sick, that the misinonry couldnt call or go home to make sure their ok…….. i told her how before i went on my mission dad was talking to me and told me if he died he wants me to stay here. I told her that i would stay because i know that i´ll be able to see my family again and what i do as a missionary gives others that same hope that i have and i wouldnt give that up for anything.. she felt the spirit really strong and have a lesson coming up this week.

Sonia is a recent baptism and was really sad because she had to watch her grandkids and couldnt go to church cuz the kids dad doesnt like the church.. i told her to say a pray and ask our heavenly father what to do and to wait and listen and an answer would come because our father loves us and wants the best for us.. and when she got the answer, write it down and do it!!! …… she came to church the next Sunday with a huge smile on her face thanking me and inviting me over to her house the next night to tell me what she did!! Haha i was so happy for her.

So Saturday night we called to double check for lunch the next day and the members were out of town so we didnt have food and there was no food i n the house. … the next morning a family called and asked if we had food and i told them honestly no so they invited us over and gave us food, then we went to visit milsa and luisiana who are two investigators and we had a lesson and in the end they gave us a type of cookie that they sell here. .. lol i really felt the love of the Lord for us and all the missionaries…

All the missionaries at the bowling alley, on p dayMe looking victorious because. . . .So this change just ended, my corto plazo is going home and i am getting my new comp, he is brand new i have to go to presidents house to pick him up tomorrow morning! Lol i remember when i came to urugay and didnt know anything and now i´m training… i´ll let you know more next Monday,This guy was my comp for about 2 weeks while I waited for a new one 🙂

Yesteraday i went and shot around with this team for about 45 minutes, my shot was pretty good, but idk i have to wait till next pday to play with em i´m pretty excited. And i´ll let you know how it goes. .. .

I know my ankle doesn't look like much, butIm playing some pretty good B-ball on it. So it must be ok!

Ok dad if you want to see where i live it is on the street defensa crossing with nueva palmira, and i go to church on the corner of goes and joaquin and requenna..

Now you can all imagine me walking around in this picture!!!

I love y ou all so much keep me in touch and let me know how everything is going with brigham and nate in his sports. Love Elder Levi Pace

And my ankle is. . . .

Hey everyone how is it going? I think that brigham looks like a stud, especially in his green stroller or whatever it is… So do you want to hear something funny, Brigham and Taylor are the Names of my comps two older brothers! I´m am so excited for you guys and really do expect lots of pics and emails. i need a really good picture to put in my photo album that i show the members and people i teach of our family!

So other day me and elder stevens were playing basketball with two kids off the streets the said they had both been playing since they were five but they were no match for us!!! hahaaha… we were beating them like 20-8 when i drove past my guy and went up for the layup and then stepped on my ankle wrong (i was wearing my church clothes and shoes).. I heard a crack and was sure it was broken because the only time i was ever experienced that was when i shattered my collerbone in three places.. It hurt super super bad, and my whole mission life just flashed before my eyes, I wondered if i would have to go home, if i would be able to come back and things like that.. Then the thought came to my head ask my comp for a blessing it would be the only way for me to stay on my mission… so he gave me a blessing and then i sat on the side while he looked for someone to borrow a cell phone to call a taxi. He brought this man to me and said teach him, so i started teaching and he kept looking, after about twenty minutes of talking to this man he had decided he wanted to accept God into his life and told us we could come by later that week. my comp came back and apparently no one had a cell phone, so i wanted to test my weight on it and it hurt bur it would support my weight so i hobbled home six blocks. My ankle was super swollen but two days later i was walking fine.

So i just have one question! who is writing my liahona article!! hahaha por favor!!

My comp goes home on thursday, I will be getting a new comp this week someone from urugay because my comp is going home three weeks early to start school, so the new elders havent got in yet so i get a member for a couple of weeks, i am super excited because corto plazos are always people who really want to be there and are studs..

I have a really great opportunity to help this ward out alot because it is likely i will be here for the next 6-7 months and í´m going up to senior comp when my corto plazo gets here. the ward has only 60 members but has the potential to have over 100. before it did and the ward is so young there are over 10 returned missionaries that are married under the age of 30… The problem is they dont really feel the desires to help out the mission work in their young married lived.. I have plans to work very strongly with the members and with the bishop to help them remember their mission lives and the ganas that they had then and try to helps them.. I will let you know how everything is going.

Today in Jew town (barrio de los judios) i bought a power balance bracelet for 35 pesos. which is about 2 dollars. in the states i am pretty sure they cost about 30 dollars. i thought that might be a good christmas present for everyone but you have to let me know if you guys want something like that, or a shirt or a  maté or, necklace or alfajores or any other type of thing. (i havent seen a bull whip here) but i will send it for christmas…

I love all you so much thank you for all the emails this past week… tell rob to send an email to urugoest@gmail.com and put my name in the subject

LES AMO MUCHISIMO!!!!!

I’ve been here 8 months now.  I haven’t played basketball in 6 months.  You guys all know what that does to me.  But I never want to come home.  And every second is worth it.

They are excited to be baptized and accept the Gospel into their lives.. We are going there on tuesday to have torta frita (fry bread) They asked us if they can get some pictures of christ for their new home.. I really hope i get to stay a nother month and a half to see them get baptized.

Soccer Party in the Streets of Uruguay!!!

Hey everyone, this past week in paysandu was pretty good, the work is going pretty slow right now but we have a couple of really good investigators. The theam seems to be who needs marrariage when you can just live together. haha just about all of our investigators have this problem… One woman accepted and invitation to be baptized if she found out that the church was true, but shes not married either.. We are working on that lol… I dont know if you guys have any idea whats going on in the sports world but all of south america does, Uruguay just won the Copa America,

Waaaaayyyy big dress! Seriously!

which is the championship of all the south american soccer teams.. There was a huge celebration three blocks away from our house!

When there's a giant soccer fiesta outside your house you go outside! Wearing your Uruguay Jersey!!!

everyone in paysandu went to this one street and just drove up and down honking their horns and screaming uruguay no mas!!! Uruguay beat Paraguay 3-0….

I don't even KNOW what kind of car this is! but I think the stripes are painters tape!!! Who Knew they had that in Uruguay. And they don't have peanut butter??? Go figure!!!

It is a pretty big deal. Dad whats up, hows basketball going, my comp saw a pic of you at avantis and said you looked super skinny, lol it was pretty cool to see the best pizza place in the world once again..

lol and it was wierd to see those missionaries they look so young. lol… did you talk to the coaches from svu for long? what did they say? have you kept in touch with anyone else from ub or anything like that.. I am doing the p90x and its pretty intense, iam also running every tuesday and saturday morning with my comp, i am weiging in at 218 right now… sometims i just start thinking about basketball and it really stinks, i havent played in about 6 months. but i do ball handling drills three mornings a week now… In this shopping center in paysandu they sell samuri swords for 300 pesos, they are pretty cheap, its like 15 bucks lol.. i was thinking about getting one and sending it home. haha keep me updated about everything. love you a lot. Mom, hey whats going on i made pancakes this morning but they were gross lol. they were 100% white flour and the whole time i made them i was thinking man! I wish i had some real pancakes right now! haha. How is Jessica doing? when is she going to have her baby? does she want you to be there with her or not. how is stuart? thanks for sending the package, watch the other one you sent will show up tomorrow… haha. Jess. Hey let me know whats up with your baby, what are you going to name it. Let me know all the cool facts about how much it weighs and everything! Brook, hey whats up i cant believe your going to college so soon. I didnt recieve any letters from anyone its ok lol i´m used to not getting letters.. Make sure You play hard to get in college, and remember your hard to get is too easy, haha play double hard to get. dont accept rides from boys, just say its ok you can walk. dont let them pay for anything untill they have gone way to far to pay for it. tell them your not interested in marraige and you want to learn.. haha even though i was the one that said you should just go hang out on campus until someone proposes without going to school. haha, it would save money and still get the job done.. Nate whats up little brother.. whats going on have you started playing golf yet? let me know what your shooting and stuff, wright me and tell me about efy. Link. Hey bro how is it going.. tell me your favorite game to play at jessicas house! Make sure you drink lots of milk and work out. Ike . Changes – Cambios

Hey everyone how is it going?? Thanks for all the emails  i love all the pics.. So this past week was transfer week.. i´ll be staying  in paysandu for another six weeks with my new comp elder rodriguez from san salvador. I am picking him up really early tomorrow morning from the terminal. .

So this past week we didnt do a whole lot because elder Lloyd was going home and wanted to visit a lot of people. But we did find a really awesome lady from peru (i dont know if any of you know  but  urugay just tied peru in the copa america for futbol so there is kinda mixed feelings!) this woman is super smart and is here studying because it is free here in uruguay.. she said she would read the book of mormon and we have a lesson with her on Thursday..

The rockwoods sent me a letter to the argentina mtc. Can someone tell them the dirección of the misión? Por favor, gracias..

I was Reading some talks in the liahona this month and i really liked a part in this one womans talk that said if you feel like you dont love someone enough you probably arent serving them enough.. That  is the absolute truth.  Sometimes we just see the bad things in people, but serving them helps us to see the good in them.  And in turn will help them see that we care for them… which reminds me lol did anyone write my liahona article yet?? Lol

Dad. I already sent you a letter to your email

Mom i think that is amazing how you helped out sisterbalcom in her pregnancy. I know that you have a special place in your heart to caring for people like that. Lol how do you think i got so lazy??? I have 2 bits of advice, follow you dreams, what happens if the lord gives us talents and we abandon them. . . and two you should teach the primamy kids the song i know he lives.. And just have them shout the chorus as loud as they can… it is super powerful.

Jess wow by the end of this change  youll be two weeks away from having your baby!!! Holy cow make sure you buy it a jumpy thing to streangthen its legs. And breast feed it. Its proven that breast milk helps babys for the rest of thier lives…

Brook thanks for writing me this  week…. Not

Nate. Congrats you are officailly smarter than your Little brothers

Link. It looks about time for a haircut, make sure your playing enough videogames the kids these days seem not to get enough of that as they used too.

Ike. What do you want me to send you for christmas bud?? You better send me your list son

Giant Playing Soccer!!!!

Hey everyone! Sorry i didnt write a whole lot last week. But this week i think i have a lot to say to  make up for it but we´ll see..

So this week we knocked a looootttt of doors lol.. But in the end it payed off we found a super awesome woman named Sandra who is really interested in what we had to say. She has 4 kids and is a baby sitter for a living, she loves kids which is what makes it even better becuase our whole message is about the family!!  After the lesson  we all knelt  to say a prayer. With three adults and 4 kids in a tiny one room house it was a Little bit cramped but it was really nice. I did magic for all the kids and they loved it. We have a nother lesson with them this week so i´ll let you know how it goes..

Last Wednesday we had a lesson with marcos so we waited to pick him up from school to walk him home and teach him. I bougt a peanut butter bar and a liter of milk while we were waiting, as soon as i finished my food i saw  marcos´s older brother playing soccer so i went over to play with him for a Little bit. These two other kids challenged us to a game 2 on 2. So obviously we couldnt back down.. lol it was super fun i had a couple of goals but pretty son the milk and peanutbutter bar got to me. I was feeling sick as a dog. So we walked over to marcos´s house and had a lesson, i was feeling sick the whole way but after we got done i felt better… Marcos is 9 years old and his mom and brother are already members but he isnt. We helped them reactivate in the church.. Marcos has a problema with focusing so we bought  candy to help him focus.. (lol mom maybe that will help you in seminary)  haha anyway with the help of the candy we learned that marcos is a genius. He learned the 5 steps to the góspel of Jesus Christ. The Word of wisdon and the ten commandments.. hahaha he has them all memorized perfectly!

If Levi served salad in Uruguay, it would probably look like this!!!

Anyway that same night  we went to a family home evening with a family. We were playing the card game uno (lol no one in uruguay has ever Heard of it go figure) and a fríend of one of the daughters came in and said “hey your that giant that was playing soccer next to the school today in a shirt and tie!” lol it was pretty funny. I think i make a good name for the missionaries here in Paysandú. …

Levi the giant, playing soccer. . .

Anyway we found today we found this Little place to eat that was super cheap and you sat in a Little room right above the kitchen. The food was super good, the only down side is all the smoke rises and you eyes burn the whole time!! Haha i am deffinately going there again!

Anyway i just got some quesions for the family… lol i was wondering what happened to all of my stuff? Whats going on with my room, all my clothes.. whats going on with my cupboard above the fridge, (by the way i claim all rights to that when i get home!!!)

LOL i checked my personal account the other  day and was pleased to find some Money on it!!! Haah i already speant $150 hahaha… dont worry it was on a microwave for the house. Microwaves are completely re imbursable i´ll get al that Money back next week. That should last me for the rest of my misión….. unless i go crazy WHAHAHAAHAHA!!!!!

Last but not least mom if you know what happend to my workout folder.. i kept track of my workout progresss on it if you could just put it in my roo mor something.. that would be awesome!!

I love all you guys alot!!! KEEP ME FILLED IN let me know when my letter for Lincoln and  Ike gets there i sent them a surprise!

Love  Elder Levi Savage Pace
